Macy Claire and Rylee's Christening

This holiday season we had a very special weekend with Macy Claire and both of our families were there to celebrate with us. Our sweet little Macy Claire and her cousin Rylee were Christened at their great grandmother's (Gigi's) church in Poplarville, MS. The service was held at First United Methodist Church and was so beautiful. Scott and I are so blessed to have such a close and wonderful family. His grandmother put in so much time and effort to prepare for the special day. She organized the Christening at the church with the pastor's, had beautiful flowers placed in the girls honor, in the sanctuary, and hosted a brunch for over 20 people after the service. I cannot thank her enough for all of the hard work she put in to making the day such a success. I was so excited to have so many family members and friends travel to share this special day with us. I know Macy Claire will look back at the pictures, cards, and gifts and know that she is loved so very much.

As I was documenting this special day in her baby book I took special care to explain that this Christening is a symbol and promise to God that we will raise her in a Chriatian home and that it will be her decision one day to accept our Lord as her Savior. I am so glad we were able to do this around Christmas as we celebrate our Father's birthday!

Happy Thansgiving!

Poor Thanksgiving. I feel like the world is trying to jump straight from Halloween to Christmas and this year I have more to be thankful for that ever before. Sometimes I still look at Macy Claire and cannot believe how lucky we are to have been blessed with such a precious gift. I thank the Lord every day for allowing us to be the parents of such a sweet, beautiful, healthy baby girl. She has brought so much joy and happiness in just 6 short months. I am in awe of what excitement the future holds!

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Poplarville to Scott's Grandmother's house. The Morris family is chocked full of AWESOME cooks! Everything was so delicious! Macy Claire tried her first bite of table food and loved it! Sweet Potatoes are her absolute favorite and she was very excited to dive head first in to a plate of Sweet Potato Casserole.

This was the first year that his entire family has been able to celebrate together in quite a few years. Scott's brother Matt and his family have moved from NOLA to Hattiesburg to manage and be the head honcho Chef at Conestoga Steak House and having them so close has been so much fun! Conestoga was closed on Thanksgiving and so he was able to celebrate with us for the first time since I have been in the Morris clan.

Macy Claire's MiMi is the most talented seamstress and made the girls matching dresses for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't even begin to know how to tell you how to turn on a sewing machine and she makes the gorgeous dresses! We are so lucky :)

I mean could our girls and these dresses be any prettier?!

Rylee warmed up to her Uncle Scott and let us take a picture with her. We love that sweet baby.

I love the look on Macy Claire's face in this picture. I forgot her mega bow... Poor baby :)
