Happy Birthday Macy Claire

Happy Birthday Macy Claire! My goodness what a year it's been. It's so hard to believe that just 12 short months ago you were a tiny 8 lb 10oz 20 inch long newborn baby girl! Daddy and I have learned so much about each other, being parents, and life in general and we are both so thankful. Sometimes when I look at you I still can't believe you are ours. Watching you grow and learn new things everyday and have new experiences has been such a joy for us. I can't wait to see what is in store for you. I have no doubt that you will grow in to a beautiful, kind, wonderful girl and know that I will always be here for you my sweet sunshine!

Macy Claire turned 1 on May 23! We had her birthday party a few weeks earlier and had a great time. Most of our family and friends were able to make it to the party. We had a "cupcake" theme and had a jumpy jump house, bubble machine, and bean bag toss. I had a smash cake made for Macy Claire that looked like a huge cupcake. She loved it. It took her a few minutes to decide how she was going to eat it. In the end she gave it some good bites and licks. She worked on it for a few days after that too. We had so much fun celebrating her big day with all the special people in her life!

For Macy Claire's actual birthday we went to Fort Walton Beach, FL with my sister and her family. We had the  most beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. We stayed at Waterscape and there were several pools and splash pads for us all to enjoy, as well as the beach. Macy Claire wasn't sure about the pool the first time we got in, but after that first try she loved it. She did want to stay in mine or Scott's arms, but she enjoyed splashing. She also really enjoyed playing (and eating) the sand on the beach. We went to eat at a few fun places, grilled by the pool, watched movies, and spent lots of quality time together. We were all sad to leave when the weekend is over. I think we should make it a yearly trip to celebrate my sweet girls day!
